When uploading a CSV to a Manual Segment, you may see this message: "New audience members cannot be added to this instance due to account configurations."
What Does This Message Mean?
This message means one of two things, depending on the status of your Cerkl:
The Manual Segment is part of a Managed Child Cerkl
Managed Child means that your Cerkl Instance's Audience is managed by a Parent Cerkl Instance. Managed Child Instances cannot add new Subscribers directly to their Audience since those changes need to be made in the Parent Instance.
This message is letting you know that if there are any email addresses in your CSV that are not current Subscribers inside the Child Cerkl, they will not be added as Subscribers or added to the Segment. For more information on Parent/Child Audience management, please review Parent and Child Cerkl Overview.
The Audience Management control is set to Integration Exclusive
Instances with Integration Exclusive enabled cannot add new Subscribers directly to their Audience list since those changes will need to be made by an Integration.
This message is letting you know that if there are any email addresses in your CSV that are not already added by an Integration, they will not be added as Subscribers or added to the Segment. For more information, please review the Audience Management section in Audience Controls.
Once you click Submit, the may take several minutes to process. You will receive an import results email where you can review the results and see if any of the email addresses in your CSV were not added to the Segment.
Import Results Email
In this email, you may see "User is not currently a subscriber" listed as an issue for an email. This means that the email address is not currently in your Audience and could not be added to the Segment. This is because either the Child Cerkl's Audience is managed by the Parent Instance, or the Cerkl's Audience Management control is set to Integration Exclusive.
If you believe this email address should be added as a Subscriber in the Cerkl, please reach out to an Administrator of your Cerkl for assistance.
