When uploading a CSV to a Manual Segment inside a Child Cerkl, you may see this "Managed Child" message: "This cerkl's audience is currently managed by the parent cerkl. Only existing audience members will be added to the segment and no new subscribers will be added to the audience."

"Managed Child" means that your Child Cerkl's Audience is managed by the Parent Instance. Managed Child Cerkls cannot add new Subscribers directly to their Audience list since those changes will need to be made in the Parent Instance. This message is letting you know that if there are any email addresses in your CSV that are not current Subscribers inside the Child Cerkl, they will not be added as Subscribers or added to the Segment.

Please Note: This is NOT an error message.

Once you click Submit, you will receive an import results email where you can see if any of the email addresses in your CSV were not added to the Segment.

After uploading a CSV to a Manual Segment inside your Child Cerkl, you will receive an import results email.

In this email, you may see "User is not currently a subscriber" listed as an issue for an email. This means that the email address is not a Subscriber in your Child Cerkl and could not be added to the Segment since the Child Cerkl's Audience is managed by the Parent Instance.

If you believe this email should be added as a Subscriber in the Child Cerkl, an Administrator of the Parent Instance will need to make those updates there.

  • Pro Cerklers Tip: After those individuals are added as Subscribers in your Child Cerkl, you can reimport the original file. If someone has already been added, we will skip them.
