How to Unsubscribe Audience Members From Your Instance

Unsubscribe, Remove Subscribers, Opt-Out Audience Members

As an Admin or a Team Member with Manage Audience permissions, you have the ability to unsubscribe Audience Members from your Instance.

If an Audience Member is unsubscribed by a Team Member or Integration, they can be added back to your Audience again in the future by importing a .CSV file or by using the Add Subscriber button.

For organizations utilizing Audience Integrations, unsubscribing manually within Broadcast can result in the person being re-added by if they are not removed from the source of the integration data.

Unsubscribe an individual Audience Member

  1. Go to Audience > Subscribers.

  2. Search for a Subscriber

  3. Select your Subscriber(s):


    Click the ellipsis menu button to the right of their name, then select Unsubscribe.

    You also have the option to select a single Subscriber by clicking the box to the left of their name, and following the instructions provided to Unsubscribe Multiple Subscribers.

Unsubscribe Multiple Audience Member

  1. Go to Audience > Subscribers.

  2. Search or Filter to find your Subscribers.

  3. Select your Subscriber(s):

    Click the box to the left of each Subscriber's name.

    Or to select a everyone on the page, click the box on the top left of the table.

    Please Note: If you perform a bulk action to unsubscribe multiple Subscribers at once, only the Subscribers that appear on the page will be unsubscribed.

    You are able to unsubscribe up to 1,000 Audience Members at a time. Scroll to the bottom of the page to select the Rows per page to adjust how many Subscribers are listed. If you want to unsubscribe more than 1,000 individuals, you will need to repeat this bulk action on multiple pages.

  4. Click the Set Opt-In Status button.

  5. Select Unsubscribe from the drop-down list.

  6. Review the pop-up confirmation modal. If it looks correct, click Yes to complete the action.
