With Type Scale Controls your organization is able to pre-set Font Type, Font Size, and Line Height for specific Text Styles that can be easily applied within the Blast and Content editors.

Setting Type Scales in Controls

Because email and web content often have their own standards for sizing, line spacing, etc., Blasts and Content have their own settings for Type Scales in their respective Controls pages under Default Styles. For in-depth information about setting these within Controls, please review Blast Controls and Content Controls.

Type Scales provide preset options for one Paragraph Style and six Headings. With each Type Scale Style you can set: Font Type, Font Size, and Line Height. These settings can then be easily applied to selected unformatted text within Blast and Content.

The Paragraph Style is used as the default style for all Text in Blast Elements and Content. If your organization prefers a different default font size or line height, you can now set this within Blast and Controls.

Applying Type Scales in Blasts

To apply a Type Scale Style to text in a Text Element:

  1. Select the paragraph/line of text

  2. Click the Clear Formatting  button.

  3. Click the ⋮ ellipsis menu button for more options

  4. Click the Type Scales drop-down menu to select the Paragraph or Heading Style.

Update Blasts and Templates to Use New Type Scales

If you're working within a Template, Draft, or Duplicated Blast that was created before applying your current Type Scale Controls, these will use the Type Scales set at the time the Blast or Template was created/last saved.

Good news! You can sync the default Type Scales for older Blasts and Templates from Email Settings so that new Elements will use your Type Scales Settings in Blast Controls.

From the Blast Editor, click the ⋮ Ellipsis menu in the top right, select Email Settings, select the Branding tab, then click Sync with Controls.

Any new Blast elements added will automatically use these defaults. Elements that have already been added will need to have formatting cleared then updated to match the new styles.

Applying Type Scales in Content

To apply a Type Scale Style to text in a Text Element:

  1. Select the paragraph/line of text

  2. Click the Clear Formatting  button.

  3. Click the Style drop-down menu to select the Paragraph or Heading Style.
