Category, Interests, Organization

The Categories section provides insight into audience interest across your Content categories, helping you understand which topics resonate most with subscribers. For additional information about Categories, please review: Categories Explained.

From this area, you can review category-level audience metrics, filter and sort results, export data, and drill into individual categories to view detailed subscriber interest information. Because category metrics are based on current audience data, these views reflect only active subscribers and do not include date range filtering.

Data Columns

The Categories Table's first row is a Summary Row, providing either a sum of the columns beneath, or for Percent of Audience, the percentage of current and unique Subscribers who have an interest in any Category.

In the table, you will see the following Data Columns available:

Category

The name of the Category.
Clicking a Category opens a detail page with more specific information - See Specific Category Insights below for more information.

Interested Subscribers

The number of Subscribers with a recorded interest in the Category, either built over time, or chose explicitly from their preferences.

Percent of Audience

The percent of your live Subscriber Audience with interest recorded in the Category.

Example: Your organization has 10,000 Subscribers, and 6,000 of them have an interest in Category “A.” That means the Percent of Audience with interest in Category “A” is 60%.

Category Source

Origin of Category: Either Organization Categories or Other.

You can search by Category name.

Segments

Narrow results to only those for Subscribers who are part of a specific Segment, whether or not the Segment was used when creating Content.

Personalized

Narrow results to only those for Subscribers who are Personalized or not.

Category Source

Narrow results of Categories based on their origin: Organization Categories or Other.

Sort

The following columns are sortable: Category, Interested Subscribers, Percent of Audience, Category Source.

Export

You can export all displayed columns on your table.


Specific Category Insights

When you click a Category from the Categories table, you will see a page with Subscriber metrics for this specific Category.

Category metrics are always based on current data. For that reason this page does not have a date range filter and only live Subscribers are included (no bounced or unsubscribed users).

Audience Table

In the table, you will see the following report for all live Subscribers in your Audience:

Audience Member

Displays the name and email address of the Subscriber.

Interest Level

The level of Interest a user has in the specific Category based on user activity over time or explicitly selected interest in their preferences.

Above Average: Above one standard deviation of the mean of all Audience Members.

Average: Within one standard deviation of the mean of all Audience Members..

Below Average: Below one standard deviation of the mean of all Audience Members..

Opt-in Status

The current Opt-In status of the Subscriber: Email Blasts Only, News Digests Only, or Email Blasts and News Digest.

Narrow results to only those for Subscribers who are part of a specific Segment, whether or not the Segment was used when creating Content.

Narrow results to only those for Subscribers who are Personalized or not.

You can search by Audience Member name or email.

You can export all displayed columns on your table.
