Broadcast + Slack integration is currently in Beta. Some features are in progress.

Please share any feedback via Chat Support, Email, or by discussing a plan with your account manager.

With Slack Integration enabled and set up between your Broadcast Instance and your Slack workspace, you can share Stories, Events, and Shared Links to a public Slack Channel.

Questions about Slack? For more information, check out this article from their website: What is Slack?

If this is your first time and you're just getting starting, it may help to first create a new Public Channel in your Slack Workspace. This will allow you create example Content to test the below steps until you and your team are more comfortable.

Schedule to Channel

When you're creating or editing Content, you can schedule a time to share the content to Slack from Distribution Settings (Gear icon in the top-right corner of your content editor).

From Distribution Settings, Slack will be available when enabled for your instance. Click the Slack option to bring up the option to review the current Slack schedule for that story, or to Schedule to Channel.

📝 Reminder: Click Publish or Publish Changes after scheduling or canceling a send to Slack to save your changes.

Send to Slack Channel

After selecting Schedule to Channel, a Send to Slack Channel window will appear, allowing you to verify the Slack Workspace, set the Delivery Date and Time, and select which Channel(s) the content will be sent to.

If the selected Delivery Date falls on an Important Day, a detailed warning message will appear. For more information, please review Important Days.

When selecting a Channel, you'll have a list of available public channels to scroll through and select from. If your Workspace has a lot of Channels, simply type the name of the Channel to narrow the results.

Once selected, you can add additional Channels by selecting the + Channel button.

If you change your mind, click the X to the right of Channel name to remove it.

Click Save, and then Publish (Changes) for your story, and you're good to go. Once the scheduled time is met, your Content will be shared to the Channel(s).

For a look at how content is shared to Slack, please review our article about the Broadcast + Slack Experience.

Cancel Send to Slack

After content has been scheduled to Send to Slack, if it hasn't sent to the channel yet and you've changed your mind, you can cancel the send from the same Distribution Setting Slack menu.

Click the Trashcan icon to the right of the scheduled listing to cancel. This is an immediate cancellation. Don't worry, you can always reschedule it.

Important Information

Once Content is sent to a Slack Channel, the Slack post cannot be removed. The Content Image and summary will remain present, even if the story is no longer available.

When Content is deleted from the Content Hub or if it has expired, clicking to Read More will present the user with a message that is only visible to them notifying them that they do not have access to the story.
