The Content Archive is the place where all of the published Content in your Cerkl Instance is kept and available for your Subscribers to search for and review.
Even after a piece of Content's Circulation End Date has passed, it will remain on the Archive until the Expiration date is reached, if one is selected.
The Content Archive page is a great resource for your Subscribers to catch up on Content they might have missed or reference Content they want to re-read.
Accessing the Content Archive
The Archive can be easily accessed by your own Broadcast Team Members and Subscribers. Below are some of the ways to access your Content Archive page:
Public URL
For public organizations and instances, users can visit your Archive from the URL available anytime someone visits your Content Archive. To easily retrieve this URL, use the options below and copy the URL from your browser's address bar.
Content Archive button (Broadcast Team Members only)
In your Instance, go to Content > Archive. When you click on the Archive button, your Content Archive page will open in another tab.
Generated Public Link (Private Instances only)
To get the public link for your Private Content Archive, go to Content > Controls. Under General, click the Get Link button (located next to Share Content Archive Link). Click Copy to automatically save it the link to your Clipboard to paste later.
News Digest
In your News Digests, you can access the Content Archive in two places:
Header: Clicking the header image in a News Digest will open the Content Archive page.
Footer: In the footer of your News Digests, you will see “Missed something? Everything archived here.” Clicking "Everything archive here" will open the Content Archive page.
More Stories button
For Cerkl Broadcast hosted Content, a More Stories button is available below the Content on the page to take the reader to the Content Archive page.
Content Archive Actions
The Content Archive page has many action options. Below, the actions options are broken into those that appear at the top of your page and those that appear on the right side of your page.
Top Bar
There are seven navigation buttons at the top of your Content Archive page:
Instance: The upper left hand corner of the screen shows you which Instance you are viewing. If you are a Team Member of this Instance, you can click the Instance name to login to your Instance.
Search: Click the search bar to see a drop-down of searchable options OR enter text into the search bar to perform a global search across your Content Archive page.
Name: The upper right hand corner of the screen shows your name. If you click your name, a drop-down list will appear with the following two option:
Profile: Click Profile to open you account profile.
My Preferences: Click My Preferences to open you News Digest preferences.
All: Clicking this button will show you every type of Content published in your Instance.
Stories: Clicking this button will filter your Content and only show the stories created inside your Instance, Content created by sharing a link, and Content pulled in from sources.
Events: Clicking this button will filter your Content and only show the events published inside of your Content Hub.
Side Bar
On the right side of your screen, you may see the following sections of information where you can perform a number of different actions.
Trending Categories: Under the Trending Categories header, you will see a number of trending Categories based on your Instance's eligible Content.
Click a trending Category name to Filter eligible Content that is tagged with that Category. Follow the Category using the Follow button to stay up-to-date with any Categories you want.
Click View All to open your News Digest Interest Preferences, so you can easily update your Category interests.
Authors: Under the Authors header, you will see a number of the Content Authors in your Instance that have eligible Content.
Click an author's name to Filter eligible Content with that author.Follow the author using the Follow button to stay up-to-date with any authors you want.
Click View All to open your News Digest Authors Preferences, so you can easily update the authors you follow.
Recently Viewed: Under the Recently Viewed header, you will see Content that you recently viewed in your other Channels.
Click the title of the Content to open it in another tab.
Connect With Us: Under the Connect With Us header, you will see the social links that have been added to your Instance.
Click the name of the social link to open the link in a new tab.
Subscribing to News Digest
When any non-subscribers views a Public Content Archive page, they can subscribe to the Instance. If they are already a Subscriber, this will be replaced with their name. To subscribe:
Click the Subscribe button (located in the upper right hand corner of their screen). This will open a pop-up modal.
In the pop-up modal, they can enter their email in the Enter email to subscribe field.
Check the box to agree to the privacy policy.
Click the Confirm button to subscribe themselves to your Instance.
After completing these steps, they will be sent the Welcome Email so that they can go through the personalization process and select their News Digest preferences.
Subscriber Profile & Preferences
Subscribers can also change their personal information and preferences from the Content Archive page. Selecting the Name drop-down at the top right of the Archive page, they can select Profile or Preferences to review and configure each section.
Profile
The Profile page provides Subscribers with their Profile details, options update their Broadcast Profile information, and review which Instances they're currently a Subscriber in and of course they can easily access those Content Archives from their Subscriptions list.
My Preferences
Selecting My Preferences from this menu will allow the user to adjust their Interests, News Digest Delivery Schedule and Format, and Subscription Status for the specific instance they accessed the page from. The preferences available are the same which appear in the personalization preference process.
