This is our bread and butter!

To begin, % Personalized is the percentage of your audience that has personalized their profile and interests through the onboarding process. This way, they'll receive tailored, relevant content from your organization. (Here's a more in-depth description of the statistic.)

However, your subscribers who haven't personalized will still receive content that is of interest to them because Cerkl learns their interests both explicitly and implicitly. The onboarding process simply allows your subscribers to specifically choose their interests instead of Cerkl predicting their interests based on their past behavior and engagement.

So, if your personalization score is a little low, that doesn't mean that your audience isn't engaged and enjoying your newsletter! They're still receiving your awesome content, tailored just for them. It may simply mean that a lower ratio of your subscribers have gone through the personalization process.

But as promised, here are a few ways to increase your % Personalized:

1) Resend the welcome email.

You can either send the welcome email (the message that prompts your subscribers to personalize their Cerkl experience and choose their interests) to all of your subscribers who haven't yet personalized or a single, specific subscriber.

You can do this as often as you'd like, but be careful! Some of your subscribers who don't want to go through the personalization process (who wouldn't?!) may become annoyed by a flood of welcome emails, so we suggest to our wonderful partners that they only send the welcome email about once a quarter for best results.

2) "Personalize your news..." button

For those of your subscribers who haven't yet personalized their interests and preferences, they are always presented the opportunity to choose their interests with a button in your newsletter that looks something like this:

You're not necessarily able to customize where that button appears in your newsletter, but it will always appear as long as that subscriber has not personalized.
