With News Digest Subject Line Generation, you can configure the style and language of Subject Lines from fully personalized and automated, to entirely custom - or somewhere in-between.

The News Digest Subject Line Generation settings are available on the Settings > Sending Options page, under the News Digest tab.

With Subject Line Generation, you can select from several modes that each provide a range of options based on your Team's needs. By Default, many organizations will utilize Classic Mode, but we encourage trying different Subject Line modes to see what works best for your audience.

Our Classic Mode generates Subject Lines automatically for each Subscriber based on their preferences and the email's content. This mode is recommended for teams that prefer almost full personalization and automation.

Set a static custom Subject Line that is used when a Subscriber does not have personalized data available.

As an option, you can include a consistent short intro to the automated News Digest Subject Lines. Maximum Characters: 30 (including spaces).

Select from 4 of the Advanced Mode Fields that can be used for Personalized Subject Lines. This mode is recommended for teams that prefer to have some control over which parts make up Subject Lines, but want personalized messaging included.

When Advanced Mode is selected, click the Select Fields button to choose which types of information will be included.

Depending on which Fields you select, the Subject Line will often be different for each Subscriber based on their personalization and attributes.

Subject Line Prepend:

Adds the short intro text that you set up on the Settings page to the beginning of all subject lines.

Subscriber’s Name:

Includes the Audience member’s name in the Subject Line.

First Digest Story:

Includes the title of the Story that’s scheduled to appear at the top of the Subscriber’s next News Digest.

Relevant Categories:

When available, two organization categories with the closest match for the Subscriber's interests will be included in the subject line.

When selecting which Fields you want to include, the Preview Layout displays a live preview of an example of the News Digest Subject Line. This preview is curated for the Team Member currently signed in. We recommend playing around with different selections to see what looks best for you in the Preview Layout.

When you're happy with your Advanced Mode Field selections, remember to click Save to keep your changes.

Set a static custom Subject Line that is used for delivery of News Digests to all Subscribers.

When Custom Mode is selected, click the Set Custom Subject Line button to enter your first Subject Line. Maximum Characters: 200 (including spaces).

After a Custom Subject Line is entered, a preview of the text will be available. Click the Edit button to make changes to the Subject Line text. When you're happy with the text, remember to click Save to keep your changes.
