Depending on your organization's software and security configurations, you may find Microsoft Outlook sometimes may prevent images from downloading automatically.

When emails are sent from Broadcast, they're coming from the most trusted source - yourself. However, Microsoft may prevent images from automatically downloading because it knows you're sending from an external system.

To protect your audience from those who may try to pretend to be from your organization without authorization, Microsoft has restricted the ability to add your own domain to your Organization's general Safe Senders list.

If you're sending emails from your primary domain, we recommend utilizing a GPO Policy for Cerkl's and your unique domains in Trusted Sites and Zones. For more information, please review Allow Automatic Image Downloads using Trusted Sites & Zones.

Individual Settings - Outlook for Windows

Individual Team Members can adjust personal Outlook settings and add individual email addresses to their Safe Senders lists, even when the email address uses your email domain.

For information about configuring Outlook individual settings, please review this article from Microsoft: Block or unblock automatic picture downloads in email messages

For users who are using systems that are controlled by a Group Policy, individual settings may not apply.

Individual Settings - Outlook for Mac

Outlook for Mac is not affected by Group Policies, and supports individual configuration of these settings, including Safe Senders.

For information about configuring Outlook for Mac's individual settings, please review this article from Microsoft: Automatically download pictures from the Internet in Outlook for Mac

If you're utilizing a system and software deployment for Macs where settings can be pre-configured, please work with your IT team to determine what settings can be deployed.

Multiple People - Group Policy

Microsoft's Group Policy Object (GPO) is a set of policy settings that controls how your Microsoft systems functions for specific groups of users. Your IT team may configuration your GPO to enable or disable certain behavior of a Microsoft application (like Outlook).

With Group Policies you can specify which domains should be on your company’s Safe Senders List for all users, without the need for individuals configuring their own settings.

While you cannot add your own domain to your Safe Senders list, if you're utilizing a subdomain (e.g. 'comms.cerkl.com') to send emails from, you may be able to add that domain.

Please note: The Keys used in the support article are provided as a placeholder that your IT team should update with your version of Outlook.
