Blasts is a drag and drop email builder that gives you more options to connect your audience to targeted single messages. Just choose the elements you want to add, put your spin on them, and see the progress as you build.

Blasts > Recent

Overview of the five most recent blasts that have been scheduled, sent, or drafted. You also have the option to begin a new blast by selecting "Create New." 

Blasts > Scheduled

  1. Sort by: 
  • Sort by blasts based on the date they were scheduled.
  • Sort by blasts based on their subject line alphabetically.

2. Search: you have the option to sort by date scheduled or alphabetically.
3. Create New: create a new blast.
4. Name/Date: the internal name for the blast, the time it's scheduled to be sent out, and the admin that created it.
5. Send To: the number of subscribers the scheduled blast will send to- by clicking that number, you can see the list of subscribers.  
6. Subject Line: the subject line your subscribers will see when they receive the blast.
7. Segments: the segments applied to the blast.
8. Categories: the categories applied to the blast.
9. Actions: 

  • Pencil: allows you to edit the blast. 
  • Trash: delete the blast. 

10. Bulk Options: by checking the box, you can bulk delete scheduled blasts all at the same time. 

Blasts > Sent

  1. Sort by: 
  • Sort by blasts based on the date they were sent.
  • Sort by blasts based on their subject line alphabetically.

2. Search: you have the option to sort by date sent or alphabetically.
3. Create New: create a new blast.

6. Segments: the segments applied to the blast.

  • Graph: takes you to blasts insights to see the metrics of your sent blasts. 
  • Eye: preview the sent blast on desktop and mobile view.  

Blasts > Drafts

  1. Sort by: 
  • Sort by blasts based on the date they were saved. 
  • Sort by blasts based on their subject line alphabetically.

2. Search: you have the option to sort by date saved or alphabetically.
3. Create New: create a new draft.
4. Name/Date: the internal name for the blast, the time it was saved, and the admin that created it.
5. Subject Line: the subject line your subscribers will see when they receive the blast.
6. Actions: 

  • Pencil: allows you to edit the draft saved. 
  • Trash: delete the draft. 

7. Bulk Actions: by checking the box, you can bulk delete drafts all at the same time. 

Blasts > Templates

This is where all your blast templates are saved so you can go back and use them again. 

Start: open the template so you can edit it for your new blast.
Trash: delete the saved template.

Blasts > Controls

Select your default text, button, footer, and personalization fields. These will be the defaults whenever you create a new email and add a new element.

Text

  1. Font Family: the font family that the blasts you create will be written in.  
  2. Link Color: the color of the links in your blasts.
  3. Text Color: the color of the text in your blasts.

Button

  1. Preview Button: shows you what your button will look like as you change the elements below. 
  2. Text Color: select a text color for your button. 
  3. Button Color: select the background color for your button. 
  4. Top/Bottom Padding: the amount of pixels between the top/bottom of the text and the top/bottom edge of the button.
  5. Left/Right Padding: the amount of pixels between the left/right of the text and the left/right edge of the button.
  6. Rounded Corners: either increase or decrease the numbers to manipulate how rounded the corners of your button are- the higher the number, the more rounded the corners will be. 

Footer

  1. Footer Preview: when this is toggled on, a footer will be used in your blast.
  2. Profile Image: when this is toggled on, your Cerkl’s profile image will be included in the footer.
  3. Social Links: when this is toggled on, your social links will appear in your footer. 

Personalization Fields

  1. Default First Name: the default first name that can be inserted into your blast.
  2. Default Full Name: the default full name that can be inserted into your blast.
  3. Default Email Address: the default email address that can be inserted into your blast. 

Blasts > Create New

  1. Title: name of your blast- this is only visible to you and your team, meaning that your subscribers won’t see it.
  2. Preview: click this to view what your blast will look like in either mobile or desktop view.  
  3. Send Sample: allows you to send a sample to multiple emails to preview what it looks like before it's sent out to your audience.
  4. Save as Draft: allows you to save the blast as a draft.
  5. Exit: takes you back to recent blasts. 

6. Save As Template: allows you to save the blast as a template for future use.
*Please note that save as draft and save as template are two separate functions. A common misconception is that they are the same.
7. Download as HTML: allows you to download the HTML file for the blast.
8. Email Settings: here you can select your font family, footer options, and personalization field fallbacks.

To & From

  1. Subject Line: the subject line for your blast that will be seen by your audience.
  2. Name: the send from name.
  3. Email: the send from email address. 
  1. Target Audience: shows how many subscribers your blast will be sent out to compared to the total number of your Cerkl subscribers.  
  2. Any of the following criteria: the blast will send to subscribers who fit any of the checked segments or categories VERSUS All of the following criteria: the blast will only send to people who fit all of the checked segments or categories. 
  3. Segments: all the segments you've created.
  4. Categories: all the categories you've created in your content settings. 

Schedule or Send

Schedule Blast: allows you to schedule a blast by date and time.
Send Now: allows you to send your blast immediately.
Save as Template: allows you to save the template for future use- can be found when creating a new template or under templates.
