An important part of increasing Engagement Score is making sure that the content you are creating is engaging. So… what is engaging content?

For a Story to be engaging, we believe it should:

  • Contain new content that gives your Subscribers an opportunity to learn.

  • Be thought-provoking and force the reader to think or reflect after reading the Story.

  • Be relevant to today and to your Subscribers' interests.

To make sure your content meets one of the three requirements stated above, we recommend checking the following:

  1. Take a look at the content inside of your Content Hub and the sources you are pulling content from. Ask yourself, and your teammates, if your content is engaging and meets any of the points above. If you aren’t getting a lot of yes’s, we recommend bringing in a few new content sources that you think your Subscribers might like. Then, you can see how these pieces of content perform over the next 60 to 90 days.

  2. Check out the Opportunity Categories inside of your Insights. To locate these, go to Insights > Categories > Opportunities. On this page, you can discover which categories your Subscribers are viewing most. Then, similar to point number one, find content that best fits within those Categories and test that content out to see how your Subscribers viewing behavior reacts to it.

Example:

Below is an example of how the strategies stated above could be used:

In your efforts to increase your engagement, you want to add content that is more relevant and interesting to your Subscribers. You start by going to Insights > Categories > Opportunities, and you see that “Customer Success” is one of your top viewed Categories. Knowing this, you go online in search of some of the top customer success thought leaders. After you find a good customer success source, you add it as a source inside of your Content Hub. Then, you wait about 60 - 90 days to check your Insights. After checking your Insights, you see that both the new source's content and your News Digest performance as a whole has improved, and you can see that your engagement score has increased!
